Small scale industries play an important role in the socio-economic development of India. To promote and encourage these small scale industries, the country’s government enacted the MSMED Act. The Act was created to maintain the list of all industries registered as MSME or SSI. These firms received record assistance in providing support and encouragement.   • Documents Required for SSI / MSME Registration:

  • Business Address Proof(Rent Agreement / purchase bills.
  • Individual Adhaar card,Pan card,Utility Bill
  • Partnership Deed / MoA and AoA.
  • Copy of license and bill of machinery purchased.
  • For companies listed in Schedule -III of the Industrial Licensing Waiver Notification, no industrial license is required. Every other enterprise must obtain this for the PRC application.
  • All statutory and administrative clearances are required to obtain such NoC from the Pollution Board to prove that no restrictions are being violated.

  • New Udyog Aadhaar replaces SSI / MSME registration

    To make the process of registering small or medium scale enterprise even simpler, a new Act called Udyog Aadhaar was passed in 2015. The udyog aadhaar completely replaces MSMEs and is conducted entirely online. Under Udyog Aadhaar, only one page should be filled for registration only with Aadhaar card as a legal document.

    Udyog Aadhaar Eligibility - Who should get SSI / MSME registration?

    Eligibility for MSME/SSI registration is dependent on the scale of business of the enterprise. Applicable for Udyog Aadhaar, proprietorship, Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), One-Person Company (OPC), Partnership Firm, Public Limited Company, Private Limited Company, Production Company, Co-operative Societies, Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) or any other . Cooperation of individuals or any other undertaking.

    Micro enterprises:

    In a manufacturing enterprise Investment of less than Rs. 25 lakhs in plant and machinery and service enterprise has Must be less than 10 lakhs invested. These micro enterprises are the smallest entities.

    Small Enterprise:

    For manufacturing enterprises, the investment should be within Rs. 25 lakhs and Rs. 5 crores in plant and machinery. For service enterprises, the limit is between Rs. 10 lakh and Rs. 2 crores rupees.

    Medium Enterprises:

    If it is a manufacturing enterprise, the investment in plant and machinery should be between Rs. 5 crores and Rs. 10 crores. If it is a service enterprise, the limit is from Rs. 2 crores to Rs. 5 crores rupees.
